The aim of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to work as professional nannies and crèche assistants. Our content has been carefully put together by a college of experts: an experienced Pediatrician, a practicing Midwife, a carrying Mother of many children under the age of 8, a professional childminder from a nursery school, an experienced nanny and professional academic content writers.

Childcare Requirements

  • Qualities of a childminder
  • Childcare Do’s and Don’ts
  • Communication with child’s parents
  • Childcare and other tasks management
  • Infectious diseases management (including TB & HIV)

Basic Childcare

  • Childcare routine & essentials: Holding, handling, nappy changing, sleeping, bathing, comforting, etc…
  • Supervising children
  • Developmental milestones
  • Nutritious feeding of babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers
  • Potty-training procedures for toddlers
  • Activities to enhance language and communication development in toddlers
  • Stimulation and play

Child Safety

  • Health care for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers
  • Hygiene practices for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers
  • Child safety and security in and around the home
  • Safe and secure environment for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers
Course Duration: 1 day theory and practical + 2 days in-service training
Award: Certificate of Completion
